Product Description

Humans and half-bloods alike agree—Percy Jackson and the Olympians is a series fit for heroes! Re-live the adventure from the beginning with this boxed set of the first three books.

The Lightning Thief:
Percy Jackson is a good kid, but he can’t seem to focus on his schoolwork or control his temper. When his mom tells him the truth about where he came from, she takes him to the one place he’ll be safe—Camp Half-Blood, a summer camp for demigods (on Long Island). There, Percy learns that the father he never knew is actually Poseidon, God of the Sea. Soon Percy finds himself caught up in a mystery that could lead to disastrous consequences. Together with his friends—a satyr and other the demigod daughter of Athena—Percy sets out on a quest to reach the gates of the Underworld (located in a recording studio in Hollywood) and prevent a catastrophic war between the gods.

The Sea of Monsters:
After a summer spent trying to prevent a catastrophic war among the Greek gods, Percy Jackson finds his seventh-grade school year unnervingly calm. But things don’t stay quiet for long. Percy soon discovers there is trouble at Camp Half-Blood: the magical borders which protect Half-Blood Hill have been poisoned by a mysterious enemy, and the only safe haven for demigods is on the verge of being overrun by mythological monsters. To save the camp, Percy needs the help of his best friend, Grover, who has been taken prisoner by the Cyclops Polyphemus on an island somewhere in the Sea of Monsters—the dangerous waters Greek heroes have sailed for millennia—only today, the Sea of Monsters goes by a new name: the Bermuda Triangle. Now Percy and his friends must retrieve the Golden Fleece from the Island of the Cyclopes by the end of the summer or Camp Half-Blood will be destroyed. But first, Percy will learn a stunning new secret about his family—one that makes him question whether being claimed as Poseidon’s son is an honor or simply a cruel joke...

The Titan’s Curse:
When Percy Jackson receives a distress call from his friend Grover, he immediately prepares for battle. He knows he'll need his powerful demigod allies, Annabeth and Thalia, at his side; his trusty bronze sword Riptide; and... a ride from his mom. The demigods race to the rescue, to find that Grover has made an important discovery: two new powerful half-bloods whose parentage is unknown. But that's not all that awaits them. The Titan lord, Kronos, has set up his most devious trap yet, and the young heroes have unwittingly fallen prey. Hilarious and action-packed, this third adventure in the series finds Percy faced with his most dangerous challenge so far: the chilling prophecy of the Titan's curse.

5My son couldn't put them down.
By Senta McAdoo
My son couldn't put them down. He is 9 years old and although he's a good reader, there have been only a few book series that have held his interest. He is an avid Harry Potter reader. I bought the entire set based on reviews and reading more information about the Percy Jackson series to see if this would hold interest. I took a chance on the whole series instead of just getting the first book. I am glad to say that he read them all in three weeks, even re-reading a couple of the books because he figured it his favorite ones - (the first and last books). He read before school, after school, even opting out of video games to read. So happy to have found another write he loves.

5Awesome Series For Anyone And Everyone!
By Vionette
I had a couple of friends tell me to read this series a few years ago since they know that I am a fan of mythology, but I kept putting it off. Last year, I ran into someone on campus that was reading them and asked him if they were any good. He told me that they were great and that I should really give them a chance. I finally gave in and downloaded the epubs. I was instantly hooked. It took me about two weeks to read all of them.

I regret not reading these books sooner. The story is really action packed and hilarious. It was fun to watch the characters go on their adventures and evolve as individuals. I really liked the modern twist to each of the gods. Despite the fact that this book is supposed to be for kids, it's a great series for people of all ages. I got myself this box set as soon as I had a few bucks. I look forward to reading Riordan's HoO series and the Kane Chronicles.

I originally wanted to get the hardcover box set with the first edition covers, but it was too expensive. I decided to get the paperback edition with John Rocco's new art on it instead. These covers are amazing. They make me want to keep reading the books over and over again. I highly recommend these books to anyone and everyone.

4What a fun way to learn Greek mythology! Highly entertaining.
By Luann Turner
These books have been on my to-read list for years and now at last, I've finally finished the first series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians books 1-5 (although this box set only includes books 1-3). I had heard and read such wonderful things about these books while managing to avoid watching any of the movies (didn't want to ruin my opinion of the books before I'd read them), and now I know what all of the Percy Jackson mania is about. My opinion? These books are great!

The first book, The Lightning Thief, was my favorite and I thought the most cleverly written. Each book after the first seemed somewhat repetitive and I'll admit that I grew weary by the 3rd book, but I'm an adult reader, so that may have played a big factor there. However, I was entertained enough to finish out the series - I had to know how everything played out by the final book, and I was quite pleased with the ending itself in book 5. I most likely will go on to read the Heroes of Olympus series in the near future because there were some characters that I would love to find out if they make reappearances (Calypso, for one - really loved and felt sorry for that character) and I would be excited to meet more interesting half-bloods, as well as follow Percy and Annabeth on more wild adventures.

I have to commend the author, Rick Riordan, for creating a brilliant and highly entertaining way to interest children and adults alike in Greek mythology. I was already very familiar with mythological creatures and monsters because I read a lot of fantasy books, but there was quite a bit about the Greek gods that I didn't know, so I was delighted to learn more about them through these books. In the end, I'm very glad that I have finally jumped onto the Percy Jackson bandwagon and I can't recommend these books enough.
