Even the longest fresh fettuccine or linguine won't touch the counter when draped on the arms of this sturdy pasta drying rack. The rack stands 16-1/2 inches high, including a heavy, stable, 7/8-inch-thick base. Assembly (and disassembly for storage) is simple. The 3/4-inch center post screws into the base. Four 18-inch dowels then slide through holes in the post, providing eight arms--cunningly angled so they don't interfere with one another--on which to hang fresh pasta to dry before going into the pot, refrigerator, or freezer. As is traditional, the rack is made of unfinished wood so pasta strands don't slide off. --Fred Brack

5I so far love this drying rack
By Anthony
I so far love this drying rack! I think it is pretty good quality, easy to store and also easy to set up. I started making home-made pasta more often and when I roll out my dough, feed them through my pasta machine, and pull out the strands of noodles, I normally stuck them in a bowl and quickly dust them with tons of flour to prevent my noodles from sticking. It worked really well from keeping it stick, but my noodles become overly floured and it sometimes affected my boiling water and made it super cloudy and starchy. I decided to invest in this Norpro Pasta drying rack to see what difference and it made making my pasta so much easier! For one thing I have a place to store my noodles as soon as I crank it out of my machine and also as I hang them, they aren't touching other pasta noodle strands and when it dries I don't have to flour them to keep them from sticking! The rack also fits a rather large amount although at first it didn't seem like it. It could probably hold enough pasta that would normally feed around 5-6 people, and the pasta dries fast anyways on this rack. I'm very happy with this purchased as it made drying pasta so much easier and faster!

5Get It!
By GoldCoast
I don't have much counter space in my kitchen so this is the perfect way to keep my pasta out of the way while rolling it down to the right thickness. I use one damp giant tea towel to cover the entire rack. Once I'm done, I quickly unassemble and store in a drawer.

5This is a great solution for those who cannot hang their pasta
By Angelfishu
This is a great solution for those who cannot hang their pasta, like myself. The pasta doesn't stick to the dowels, which are really small so the pasta is usually making minimal contact with any kind of surface. I have made 6 cups worth of noodles and found the rack to be sufficient--as long as the pasta is long enough. The stand is high enough. Any longer and the pasta would be too long for eating. Any shorter and the bottom dowel would be useless. The pasta dries very quickly, I had fragile, brittle pasta within 1 1/2 hours.

There are two caveats to the stand which one should be aware of before buying. The dowels don't stay very well, which is annoying when removing pasta from the stand, but it's nice when one side needs just a little more room. I also like--after i dropped the stand onto tile and broke a dowel--that the dowels are easily replaced.
The second caveat is that the stand isn't meant to be taken apart. The hardware to screw the pole into the base fell out within the first month. There are other reviews that don't recommend it. I fixed it by filling the base with toothpicks and pounding the pole into the base with a hammer. I would recommend not to take it apart to begin with, though.
