Useful for small projects/jobs
By RMan
The magnifying glass is pretty good and the clamps hold your projects pretty well. Though there are some minor issues to bring up. The screws were tightened a little too tightly, you may have to use pliers to adjust them. The alligator clips (as all alligator clips come with this problem) tend to leave teeth marks on your projects, so don't leave them on for too long unless you don't mind having the bite marks on your PCB or wires. And lastly the base is very small, so using it on lightweight or small projects is best. It doesn't make all soldering jobs easier, but it does have its niche and it does it well.

Can't do much better for $4.
By J. Slover
It's not machined perfectly, but as far as I can tell, the flaws are only cosmetic. It functions as well as similar products that cost three times the price. The base is heavy enough to keep it from tipping over, the clips hold securely, and all the mechanical parts operate as they should. For the $4 price, you can't buy a better product.
One note, while it says "Michigan Industrial Tools", it is, in fact, manufactured in China.

Decent third hand
By Chris W
The base could be a little larger as it is prone to tip over but other than that this is a good helping hand. I would recommend drilling holes in the base to mount it on a solid surface or using a small vise with it.
